"King of the Ring" is also the name of the tournament that was the focus of this pay-per-view event. Tournament to crown King of the Ring includes Bam Bam Bigelow, Owen Hart, Razor Ramon, Tatanka, 1-2-3 Kid and more. WWF Champion Bret "Hit Man" Hart defends against Intercontinental Champion Diesel.
